Halloween 2006

Nothing pleases me more that getting dressed up in the most absurd costume I can think up. We all know its a chance to let out our inner child, but it can be a reward test of you pre-school craftiness. I tested the limits this year, donning pink in what i give to you people, “Cheer Bear”.

Care Bear Stare!

The Pre Stare

Now I won’t go into much detail on the construction of this costume (trade secrets), but the humility necessary to wear this outfit pales in comparison to the fortitude needed to purchase the items for it. I’m no small guy, and not a lot of men’s stores sell pink jump suits.

Enter Fashion Bug.

We found this gem on their website. So on a Tuesday night I have to ask my girlfriend to call the store to see if they have the pink jumpsuit in stock, because I can’t muster up the courage. Julie’s cracking me up though, and at some point she blurts out to the frustrated salesperson on the phone, “Its for a MAN”. Conversation’s done after that and we prance on down to the Bug. The only other notable part of this story was the creepy old lady in the line who whispered, “good for you”, as I walked up to the counter with the jumpsuit. Oh yeah, the slippers were courtesy of Payless Shoes and the gloves we a last minute pickup at Cumby’s. Mostly all things were found in perhaps the worlds least teen-infected indoor mall, the Wakefield Mall.

It was a great costume to wear, and gave me a reason to hug everyone while whispering sweetly, “caring is sharing.” Check out the photos online.

St Patty’s Weekend

Hey I had a great weekend celebrating the fact that I’m not Irish, but I sometimes wish I was. I got a new camera too, so expect a lot more photos put up in the weeks to come and a bunch over my coming trip in the Mediterranean.

So you’re probably wondering, that is if you know me in any way, who the hell these two guys are. Simple truth is that I do not know. They were some Japanese businessmen getting sloshed at the Mew’s, but we brought the cameras. As friendly as they seemed, take broken english, slow it down and add a few shots, you’ve got a mumbling cocktail of shouts and smiles. Nevertheless, they were able enough to hit on my friend Tara, and we found their card in the morning. Top notch stuff, and some weird pictures, I couldn’t beg for more.
